Ben Wittman: News
Updates - April 18, 2007
Well, it has been quite some time since my last update. Needless to say it has been a busy end to 2006 and the beginning of 2007. I'm currently finishing up producing a new record for Lauren Kinhan, and slated to begin a record in August with a formidable, and incredibly nice bunch of vocalists called Moss. It is comprised of Theo Bleckman, Peter Eldridge, Lauren Kinhan, Kate McGary, and Loucian Souza. Also, Lucy Kapnsky's new record was just released in March and has gotten off to an excellent start. In touring news, I've been having a wonderful time reconnecting and playing with Paula Cole. The tour dates will start ramping up through the year as the record is released in June.
On a more local level, I've enjoyed playing at my neighborhood Australian Pub most Tuesdays with keyboardist Bennett Pastor. In the writing world; I composed the music to my mother's new dance work for the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, and am currently finishing up some new song demos.
I'll be posting some excerpts from the dance score as well as some new song demos soon. Support live music and the arts always !
Regards, Ben

Well. I'm finally back for real in Brooklyn after 3 months of touring. We had a blast in Japan with Keiko Lee and Jiro Yoshida. They really know how to take care of a Brooklyn boy. Amazing regional food everynight, great shows, and travel by 1st class Bullet-Train all over Japan. Still, it has been great being home again and enjoying summer in Park Slope. Free concerts at the Prospect Park Band Shell, running and biking at the park, catching up with friends and hearing some great local music. Speaking of local music, I've been really enjoying checking out Jim Campilongo's band Mondays at the Living Room (JimCampilongo.com). He's a an extremely fresh and original guitatrist, and he's accompanied by a killer rhythm section of Tony Mason(drums) and Richard Hammond(bass). Next up is Lucy Kaplansky's new record. Lucy and I have been getting together to sort out some new material, including some wonderfull new songs she's just written. We'll start recording in mid-August. I've also just posted a new song demo, "What you're Going Through", sung by the lovely and talented Marlo Merron.
I've also posted a couple of new pics from this summer's travels.

I'm Just back from the Erasure tour. It was a great experience with a smokin' band, good people all around and amazing fans. Andy and Vince were wonderfull to work with and Steve Walsh, the producer of the new record, did an excellent job of MD'ing the band. 'Also developed a taste for Scottish Single Malts. Next up, touring Japan with guitarist Jiro Yoshida and vocalist Keiko Lee.
My New Website - March 24, 2006
Welcome to my website.
This is where I'll keep you up to date on live shows, noteworthy happenings, and perhaps the occasional road-warrior story (all names will be kept confidential to protect the innocent).
Also, in the music section, I'm including my own songwriting demos. They are sung by some of my dearest friends and collaborators, who also happen to be some of the finest voices on the planet (no, I'm not biased).
Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for future info.
Sincerely, Ben Wittman
